And since it's basically inevitable at this point, it really seems like they're just prolonging the pain and agony of waiting, for everyone involved. Bloody insane bloodthirsty leaders, I swear.

Went to uni today, not much happened. Came home, not much happened. I got Yayed on the Bronze though which is neat :) and then I missed midnight, reread some VSDs, and then watched Labyrinth, Rove, and Angel. Rove's guests were all superbly famous yet superbly dull, though he did manage to liven it up as usual. The best part was the riders in G-strings. Many very nice ones in there. Discovered that Kylie has *gasp* a sense of humour, when Rove presented her with a photo of his impersonation of the Can't Get You Out Of My Head video (Rove in a sheet, very funny) and she responded with "This is going straight to the pool room." Americans and Brits, go buy an Aussie slang dictionary and then rent The Castle. It's the funniest Australian movie ever made, and with a shoestring budget too.
Tonight's Angel eppy was Spin the Bottle, thank Joss, b/c everything was getting far too icky for me and we needed the interlude. The return of Teen!Cordy was awesome, Gunn's just....being Gunn-like, Wesley was acting too old, and even Angel had a few genuinely funny moments. And as futher proof that Conner is Oedipus, how about that line from the hooker? "Why don't you go home, maybe Mommy's got a special treat for you." Unfortunately that means that Slouching Towards Bethlehem is soon, which, despite VERY shibby pyrotechnics and one of the best titles ever, is the beginning of The Ew. Spoilers for later in season 4 below...
I'm trying to work out exactly *when* Cordy turns evil. Anyone got any theories? I might ask at the Alt later.
Spoilers all done now.

Link of the day is The Nicest Dark Side. Why? Because I said so. Check out the Boys section for the gorgeous Lij/Gale Harold pages I linked to weeks ago. By the way, yes, it is N'Sync slash.

Pics of the day, a random little selection of fun stuff.

Fighting for war is like fucking for virginity.
Green Queen

Fab's back on Aussie TV!

That's right, it's Monday night again, which means my weekly appraisal of 24, Queer as Folk, and Buffy. I'll try to make the 24 spoilers only visible when highlighted, but not the rest :) First, an update on you know, that real life thing. Have an earache. Ugh. Gothboy hasn't called, I might message him when I get credit. Coz you know, still cute. Came back from Sydney today, so pretty much altogether very, very boring. Am giving Nina shoes. Have uni tomorrow. Didn't mention that I have my Matchbox CD back before. I did, my cousin was borrowing it but I finally got it back, which is fortunate, coz I missed it. I mean I actively thought "I wish I could hear from 'More Than You Think You Are' right now." Moving on now, tv :)

24 spoilers: Okay, we all know Jack's going to be okay, but that moment when Prez Palmer was talking to him on the phone and crying was *so* good. Jack being all brace and shit was cool too. Anyone who didn't see the shooting of that Kate-related guy coming must be completely clueless. I'm gonna go not very far out on a limb and say that the chick who wanted to get rid of Mason is one of the 3 spies form next week. Much as I hate bitch-wife woman, I don't really think she's a spy. I'm hoping and praying Tony Almeida and Reza aren't spies coz I really like them, and I'm also hoping Prez Palmer's assistant-woman isn't either. Other than that they can go where they like.
24 spoilers done.
Moving on to Queer as Folk, and everything *but* Justin/Ethan was really not very interesting tonight. Naked Ted, not something I wanted to see. I really just don't care when he gets his own storyline. Geisha Emmett was adorable, though :D and the fizzling of Ben's party was done well. It was somewhat predictable that he'd gotten sicker as soon as he got pissed off at Michael. The treatment of Brian was very harsh, but necessary to build some Justin/Ethan, which has become very quickly my second favourite OTP on Queer as Folk. (By the way, I found out OTP stands for One True Pairing. So okay, second OTP doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense, but you know what I mean.) I realise that Brian really does love Justin, but it's necessary to hurt Brian for this storyline to work, which I appreciate. I also appreciate the way they continued the violin music through the Brian/Justin scenes to highlight the tension, and Justin's mind being completely occupied by Ethan. And how *gorgeous* is that boy? "I'd give you breakfast in bed," "I see you as noble and sentimental..." *drools* Damn, I hate Justin. Oh gee, I have to choose between Ethan and Brian. How terrible for me. Two drop-dead gorgeous gay men want me, whatever am I going to do. Bitch.
I liked Selfless more than I thought I would. D'Hoffryn was particularly cool, he still makes an awesome bad guy. His insights into the characters were very interesting. Good quotes: "Isn't that just like a Slayer. Solving all her problems by sticking things with sharp objects," "I think we all know what lady hack-away wants," The killing of Halfrek was just amazing, and *so* effective. I also liked the breaking of tension with flashbacks, my favourite being Olaf as a troll, with the very funny, very literal subtitles. The one that suited my own odd little sense of humour best was when "Yarrrgh" was translated to "Arrrghh." I also liked the continuity with the mustard song, niiiiice. What's with those weird tops with the tie-waist things that Buffy keeps wearing? White in Lessons, black in this one. Ugly shit. (see I can notice this stuff coz I read the eps ahead of time and it's been so long since I you know, saw the clothes and stuff)

Hair update: Definitely faded. Most disappointing.

Link of the day is

Okay, I found a couple nice Spike pics at a quotes site that wasn't interesting in its own right. The girl who makes it has taste. So today's pics of the day are some nice Spike screencaps and a couple LotR boys at the SAGs, mostly coz Sean looked cute hosting. I was hoping for at least one pic of Sean with the others, but no such luck, and everybody knows about my distinct lack of a fondness for Billy Boyd, so not many of the Sags pics appealed to me. I've decided to use LJ cut tags to do this thing, so the pics from the LiveJournal are in my Comments section. Other blogs are as normal though.

Me? A bit of a thing for "Lessons" Spike? Maybe just a *little*...

Isn't there just a weird gangster feeling to that last one? I'd like to take this opportunity to say both Dom and Sean looked just gorgeous, and I love Dom't little hat. See, he dresses oddly and looks good. Orli just looks...well, stupid.

Yes I am
I hope you think you read me
Hope I start talking crazy before you think you understand me
Are we through
You think that I'm beneath you
But you like the things that I do

Wrap em up and take em with you

Green Queen

Fab's back on Aussie TV!

That's right, it's Monday night again, which means my weekly appraisal of 24, Queer as Folk, and Buffy. Serious, real green, I'll take a photo tomorrow and maybe post it or send it to ppl who want to see. But anyway, 2 guys hit on me! You remember I discussed a cute guy who looked like Jonas, one of my two O-Week guys, the one from the Toga party? I saw him again, and admired his hotness/prettiness. He's kinda goth but very hot. Anyway, Tom said "So go hit on him already." I walked up to Iain (hot gothic spike boy) and said "Tom said to hit on you already. Only problem is, I'm not very good. Haven't had much practice." 10 minutes later after a tiny bit of small talk and a fair bit of close dancing, I was getting his number! True, I said to him "So are you gonna ask for my number, or am I gonna give you my number" but still. It was FANTASTIC.

Nina and Sarah just called. Where was I?

Ah yes. So 10 minutes later this other guy walks up, pulls me over to him, says "Are you having a good night?" I said "Yeah, fantastic, I just gave him *indicates Iain* my number!" The guy persisted anyway, pulled me back over twice more to dance and ask my name. I fucking LOVE MY HAIR! Then I spent 20 minutes on the side of the road discussing my newfound desirability with Tom (I love you! You're the bestest friend ever!) who laughed a lot, and I grinned a lot, and I was drunk but people LIKE weird-haired drunks! And then I came home.

Friday Five

1. Do you like talking on the phone? Why or why not? Yeah, I love it, because I love talking in general and it's a good way to do it.

2. Who is the last person you talked to on the phone? Sarah and Nina, about 2 minutes ago.

3. About how many telephones do you have at home? My mobile, Mum's, Clare's, Papa's, and two home phones--6.

4. Have you encountered anyone who has really bad phone manners? What happened? Yes, Jonas, but I get through it. I really don't mind.

5. Would you rather pick up the phone and call someone or write them an e-mail or a letter? Why or why not? Yes because it's more personal.

Finishing the survey later, sorry, but I'm drunk and hyper and I need to go to bed soon or I won't get up.

Link of the day--Scifi.com? Sure, why not. Cham's been busy there. Nveer been there myself, but meh, go see it anyway. Cham has taste.

Pic of the day. If I've used it before. I apologise, and will make up for it later.

Everybody, dye your hair, for cancer research and for picking up!
Green Queen

grrr SICK OF FUCKING ARGUING

Before I do a big fat rant over the Bronze riot that broke out over the first of yesterday's Pics of the Day, I'd like to discuss The Third Man. I watched this movie today, and it was fantastic. Studying Nosferatu beforehand also helped me appreciate the use of diagonal lines and unusual shapes to make the viewer disoriented and build tension, and the nods to German expressionism. God, I sound pretentious. The Third Man was a great thriller, the characters and settings were gritty and awesome, and Orson Welles! To see him so young and pre-status and really acting was fantastic. I feel like when he got older, he just had this legend built around him, so that he never had to act. He just had to be Orson Welles. For anyone who hasn't seen The Third Man, I highly recommend it.

Moving on. I posted the first of the two pics I posted in my blog yesterday on The Alt Bronze, one of my *favourite* sites that I frequent. A lot. Anyway, after asking what the boys were doing and getting a reply that they were "about to kiss," someone replied "i find it offensive to have to see two men kissing. i'm not trying to start anything.. but if you're going to be posting pics such as these, please put some kind of warning." It started an absolute uproar. She was called homophobic, some people said she was wrong but should be free to express her views, and then another argument completely broke out over someone who had attacked her. Well, her comment pissed me off. It was rude, and wrong, and implied that there was something wrong with me for liking the picture. It also implied that seeing two guys kissing is unnatural, whereas a guy and a girl is fine. The girl apologised for her point of view and gave the excuse that she grew up in a small town, but hell, weren't a lot of people raised to believe there was something wrong with gay people? I know I was, and look at me now! This was unfair and wrong, and I don't believe she had a right to ask for a warning. Rant over.

*sigh* I'm all flustered and having trouble finding a Link of the Day. How about Film Quotes & TV Trivia. The site is pretty crappy but I've been subscribed to the newsletter for a long time and it's pretty cool. Mr. Squirrely's not up to the standards of the original newsletter writer (forgotten his name) but it's still worthwhile if you're a film buff.

Pics of the Day are of my fave pics of boys kissing or close and of my favourite slash pairings. Why? Because I LIKE THEM THAT WAY!

now *that's* boys kissing.

This is long, and involved. But you know...I like it. And I have some time. Also, check out this thread at the Bronze, coz it's FUNNY!!! Second part of this survey tomorrow.

Appearance
> hair: short. soon to be green.
> height: 5' 4". or 5'5", I dunno.
> weight: Haven't weighted myself in ages. A fair bit.
> figure: it's there.
> favourite feature: um.....I dunno. Ears?
> least favourite feature: thighs.

Style
> clothing: I look at the pile of clothes at the end of my bed, sniff them, then put on whichever doesn't smell like I've worn it much, or at all.
> music: Lots and lots of types, can't pick one. Artist-wise, Matchbox Twenty, Alex Lloyd, Eminem.
> makeup: allergic
> body art: none
> shoes: all of four pairs. Prom shoes, black boots, runners, sandals.

Either/Or
> tea or coffee: neither. tea, if I *have* to choose.
> high achiever or easy-going: More easy-going, now.
> cats or dogs: cats
> pen or pencil: pencil for taking notes. Means I can make mistakes.
> gloves or mittens: gloves, I guess. I don't like stuff on my hands.
> cassette or cd: stupid question...CD
> snuff or cigarettes: ew?
> coke or pepsi: no thanks
> matches or a lighter: Matches. More satisfying.
> sunset beach or the bold and the beautiful: PASSIONS!!!!!

Who Do You Want To...
> kill: Nobody. Too much of a pacifist.
> hear from: Gus or Jonas. But I won't.
> look like: nobody else...I may not look great, but I'm the only person who looks like me. I don't want to be confused for anyone else.
> be like: Garfield.

Favourite
> drink: Vodka sunrise with lemonade.
> colour: If you have to ask, I think you're missing something.
> shoes: Whichever suit the occasion, or are nearest the door.
> site: The Leaky Cauldron, Cassie Claire's Very Secret Diaries, The Alt Bronze, Omar G's Smallville Reviews, Bag-End Inn, and my three favourite webcomics: Boy Meets Boy, Sluggy Freelance and Sinfest
> song: Drive by Incubus, Green by Alex Lloyd, Real World by Matchbox Twenty.
> vegetable: cucumber
> fruit: watermelon

Do You...
> smoke: no
> do drugs: just alcohol, cept for that one time.
> sleep with stuffed animals: yes
> have a dream that keeps coming back: yes
> play an instrument: Used to play piano.
> believe there is life on other planets: Yes. Today went pretty well, got to have big yelling fights with people in my Anthropology tutorial. Watched a not entirely dull doco called "My Mother India" in Asian Studies. Didn't bother going to my Written Jap tute. Had lunch with Nina, Tom, Peter and Ben, who may or may not be called Stewart. And bought bleach and green hair dye....

Because I'm taking part in "World's Greatest Shave for a Cure", my link of the day. I didn't wanna shave my head but I'm not gonna wuss out and just spray my hair orange or some shit like that either. People (by people, I mean you. specifically. Yes, you.) should join in, it's to raise money for cancer research.

While looking for the pics below, which I find hilarious and cute (coz at the time there were lots of rumours of rivalry between Nicky and Seth,) I came across this page. I watched Queer as Folk tonight, and discovered you can't flick channels while taping from TransACT or it shows up on the tape, so I only got to see a *very* fuzzy and brief image of Brian as "RAGE" flying over Babylon in this cute little black superhero number *drools.* If you missed this episode, REGRET IT immediately. It was fantastic. Esp. if you're a fan. Unfortunately I started taping Buffy tonight so I missed the very end of QaF. I watched Emmett's sayonara George speech all fuzzy and staticy, but it just wasn't the same :( What else...24 was good, if odd. Spoilers below, highlight text to read it (so BB can see my site now!)

I can't believe that Jack *didn't* put talking to Kim above everything else. And quite frankly I was a bit pissed off at him for not at least talking to her a tiny bit more. The Kim storyline went nowhere tonight, which was disappointing, but Nina and Jack's dynamic was great, and that Reza/Almeida tension is fantastic, I'm loving that, and the boys are pretty hot. Not Brian hot, but still. Still not loving Pres Palmer's bitch wife, but at least she was useful.

You can look now! Tonight's Buffy episode was Help. *drools* Cassie is one of the best non-main characters we've seen in a long while. I'm talking not even properly recurring, of course (Jonathan etc. all fall under this category.) The story was very touching. Loved it.

Saw Nosferatu in Film Studies. I have that feeling again like I should've liked it more than I did, which is annoying. It just did nothing for me. There were a few genuinely scary moments but it didn't seem to go anywhere, and all the lighting...they were trying to convince us it was night in the middle of the day. I know there were lighting restrictions and all, but it annoyed me. The only decent sense of atmosphere I got in the whole movie was when Jonathon was in Drac's castle, and then the cool vamp didn't even kill the whiny little bitch. *sigh* and all the swooning....At one point it looks like Nina has some sort of orgasm while trying to resist the temptation to read the Book of Vampires. I guess they liked the small pleasures, what with it being such a small town, and her husband was so useless.

Life-wise no developments today, hung out with Phoebe and Peter a lot. My sister Clare's going away to camp for a few days, which'll be a nice relief.

*mourns terrible loss of Oliver Wood from the third movie* I don't care if you think he wasn't necessary, I found him important, and I'm sure I'll still love the movie, I just miss what might've been.

Link of the day isBuffyWorld.com because it's fun and shiny and I get all my screencaps there. Well, there are pretty ones at S. O'Conner's site, but frankly it's a bitch to load.

Welcome to my PIcs of the Day, a cowboy hats special. ...what?! He posted a comment on it over at his site, also the link of the day. Good luck if you can find this mysterious diary thing. I can't. It's caused an absolutel uproar over at The Leaky Cauldron, 221 responses posted since after this time yesterday. That's a lot. I tried watching Lord of the Rings with *all* the extras, but nothing managed to cheer me up. Spoilers for book 3 below.

Yes, he's hot, and there won't be anyone to drool over. This, however, is not my major complaint. The scene where Gryffindor wins the Quidditch Cup and Wood sobs on Harry's shoulder, and then later when Harry passes the cup to Wood, was by far one of my favourites in the book--and that's *before* they even cast Sean. I also loved Fred and George's comment that Wood was "trying to drown himself" in the showers, and Wood's desperation in his speech before the Big Game. So far I haven't complained about much of anything in the movies (corniness of the ending of CoS notwithstanding,) but this just upsets me. The only scene that beats it in my mind is Sirius and Lupin's meeting in the Shrieking Shack.
I'm very "disappointed." Word of the day at TLC.

Pics of the day are lovely Sean ones. *sniffles*

You'll recognise one I use in my blog header, that's coz that's my favourite one.

Don't let the bedbugs steal your TV while you sleep
Green Queen

I am not a chimp.

See me. I figure we can make a whole meal eventually. Chips, Red Wine, Ceaser Salad...
Moving on. I'm currently catching up on old Roswell eps. It's kinda become an Obsession of the Week-type thing. Shouldn't get as full-fledged obsessy as Lord of the Rings, though. Poor old Max has had a bit of a bitch of a time. I've got Transact so people can now call me when I'm online, not that people call me often, but still.

Link of the day is CrashDown, the best Roswell site I've found, in honour of my current (non-slashy! arencha proud) interest in the show.

Pic of the day. It sucks. Another thing that sucks is that they rarely do the whole "Next week on *insert name of TV show here*" at the end of shows these days, I really don't like that coz at the end of shows I love I need to know at least a little of what's happening next or it drives me crazy.

Saw the premiere of the new Roswell series today. Very convaluted, the Michael/Isabel scene was CUTE!, but I have another problem with the show. Yes, another one. The whole thing where Isabel was all worried about Max, but coming back he doesn't give a shit about her or telling Michael and her that he's alive or *anything,* even though they're right there in town and it'd probably only take a second. It's all Liz this, Liz that. I seriously don't think he even notices his sister unless she's threatening to divulge their secret. For that matter, I don't think he ever notices *anyone* else exists.
He's still sexy. Not Lex sexy, but sexy.

It's getting harder and harder to find a link of the day y'know. TAKE THE PURITY TEST! I'd totally forgotten about this hilarious site until Sinner reminded me. It's so cool! I'm down to 70% now! I knew the barfight and the marijuana'd drop me down a bit :D

Here's that pic of the day I promised. It's Joss and James Marsters, innit CUTE?!

No witty closing comes to mind...um, look over there! Aching, tired, going to bed soon. For fuck's sake, when are they going to start showing Smallville again?! Going to Sydney next next weekend. No other interesting news.

So I'm thinking, and I'm gonna put this down here tonight so I don't forget, that one day when I have more time I'm going to do a list of recs of my favourite fics. I gotta build up a list of my favourite fics first, though, so it may take a while. Oooh! I remember what I can use as Link of the Day! It's funny and cute and okay, it's just a couple of pics (comic 1 and comic 2 from "a cute article in Red Carpet magazine" which cutie Mark Ordesky wrote) from Bag-End, but it's practically a link in itself, and How Joss would write Peanuts which people have been linking to from the Bronze all day.

Pic of the day, courtesy of Colin *hugs.* Dunno if he reads here. I'm gonna go see him in Sydney soon. He liked this. My legs hurt. Went to buy Nikki a birthday present, went to my anthropology lecture, couldn't find my written Jap lecture (dunno if I'll bother going to those for a while though, they're only doing the kanas for a bit), saw Christine, Anna, Phoebe, Tim and Cassie. Weird day. And too long. Rove was funny, as always. His bit with Kostya Tzsyu was hilarious, the pancake eating competition was a bit of a let-down though. I liked the big camera-hiding flower. Funny stuff. Angel's on now, but it's the one where Cordy comes back and I don't have the energy to watch it really.

Shit, almost forgot. You've gotta read the latest Omar G Smallville review, it's hilarious, he *finally* goes of at Lana for always making everything about herself. I hate that girl *so* much. Fortunately she doesn't stand a chance against Sexy Lexy. Highlight below text if you like being amusedly spoiled...
"Lex," Clark says like an old lover, "why do you care so much about an old Native American language?" See, Lex doesn't think it's that at all. "I don't even think it's from this planet," Lex says. "You think aliens wrote it?" Clark asks. Lex kind of looks away. Clark smiles skeptically and says, "I'd keep that to yourself, Lex." Asshole! That's such a dick thing to do! Lex is right! All hail Lex! Evil! Lex is hurt, but he still stares at Clark with a mixture of pride, hurt, admiration...um, sex, and sex, and desire and hotness and wet naps and bubble wrap and the universe and that Dave Matthews song about lifting up your skirt and showing the world to him and Clark's eyelashes and, oh my. It's the Gayest Look of the Episode.

Man, that's longer than my blog entry tonight.

Was going to use kittens as link of the day, but I've found a better one thanks to SoAnya from the Bronze. The First Evil's livejournal is funny as anything :D go check it out.

Pic of the day. I have to stop using up all the good shit. Or move onto a new obsession very, very fast. These are really cute but unhappily small. It's Sean's wife, Sean, Lij, Dom, and some short guy. He's not a hobbit, Orli or Sir Ian, so I don't care.

I need a massage. Spoilers for the last three.

Okay so for QaF, 24 and Buffy, it was mostly *flicks to seven* Oh, fuck me! *flicks to sbs* Jesus H.! *flicks to seven* Holy shit! And so forth. George Mason's son had like 3 minutes of screen time and I completely fell for him. Very hot, and he did the little crying thing and I melted. Trying to find out who he is on IMDb as I type. Also, Reza's hot. I used to know a couple of Rezas. We didn't bother pronouncing it all fancy and Arabic-like, we just said it as what it looked like. Odd, that. And he killed his wife! Meagan's bastard father killed his wife and stuffed her in the trunk! I knew it as soon as I saw the blood dripping from the boot of the car, but I didn't want to see it. Finally, 24's really picked up the pace. Great to see Nina again, not so much Dave's bitch ex. I hate that woman. I finally figured out there was something going on between Dave and his top advisor woman, coz the bitch was being all jealous and nasty, and not just in her usual power-hungry way. I kinda miss fuzzy Kiefer. Mason's hot son not on IMDb, I'm searching in Google.
Moving on to Queer as Folk, *sniffles* George died! He'd be delighted that he went the way he did, but it's still really sad :( poor old Emmett. And what was Justin thinking, with the party, and what is Debbie thinking, with the homophobe asshole cop, and hitting Michael?! Brian's hot when he's drunk. He's hot anyway, but still. Aha! Mason's hot son is called John, and is played by Eric Christian Olsen. He was in Smallville! Wonder if he was part of the HoYay? Without the fuzz he looks icky and preppy.
Onto Buffy, which I didn't like so much because it frustrated me incredibly. I hate being frustrated by TV, it's why I can't watch Mr Bean anymore. So I didn't like the first half, but it picked up after the scene where Spike-in-icky-but-figure-hugging blue shirt and his nice bleached curls talks to Willow and Buffy and Xander. I love his line "I'm insane, what's his excuse?" in relation to Xander. Alyson Hannigan was great in this episode.

I loved Run Lola Run, but didn't like Clockwork Orange. I'd review them but I'm too lazy since I'll have to do that for uni anyway. Maybe I'll post a uni-written review here one day.

On the upside, NEW VERY SECRET DIARY TODAY!!!!! She put Legolas's TTT diary up! *dances with joy and rapture*
*joy and rapture not impressed as I dance very badly* So happy :D Link's here in case you've forgotten or missed the blog in which I posted it or whatever. On the downside, Bad-End completely renovated, and I have to get used to a whole new system *sigh.*

Link of the day is

Here's a few cute little pics of the day from my favourite ever LotR event, the LA TTT prem. Ash called, he's going to give my first book back and let me watch the Lord of the Rings extended version DVD *hugs Ash*, which I have been trying to see forever. I realised Adam still has my second book. Am thinking of just buying a new one. Not sure if I can actually face him. Hound of the Baskervilles was cool coz it was cold and windy out and all very spooky, and because the casting was great. Silly Songs with Larry rock. Oh, and happy birthday Niels, and get well soon Nina.

Not much else to say, really. Very tired because of cold. I may join more.

Pic of the day--I'd completely forgotten about this, I've seen it so many times I just glaze over it now, but it's really cute. The bad news is that my Asian History lecture and movie times clash with my Film Studies lecture and movie times. I'm thinking I'll just play it by ear--FS goes from 2-5 and AS from 3-6, so at the very least I'll be able to catch both lectures. It's not too bad.

Felt kinda sick today, so I slept from about 10:30am until 2pm after I got home from french class. My fucking father roped me into the bloody 8:45am Saturdays class, I'll never forgive him. Then there was a big party here for my sister's bday and I was put on babysitting duties. Watched Knight's Tale, *again.* Still, I had Chaucer to keep me amused. Had a little text conversation with Huw. Managed to get myself into lunch tomorrow with Nikki, Nina and Tom, which isn't too bad but I'm still not feeling all that great. Meh, I'll live. Read lots more Synchronik today, I'm almost done so this obsession won't be going on for too much longer (thankfully, don't think I could cope with a lingering obsession once uni starts.)

Link of the day is TheOneRing.net, which is just a really good Lord of the Rings site with lots of stuff, not slashy (so not up there with Cassie Claire's or Bag-End) but good for a little researchy fun.

As promised to Dragon over at the Bronze, we're continuing the "Dom and Billy getting caught doing something naughty" theme, so named for the looks on their faces in all these pictures. I'm doing them all as a set because they're so similar and I don't love em that much, except for one or two. I'm not a big Billy fan.

no-one else'd take this shit from me
Green Queen

so fucked, again.

Lots of fun hanging around in the uni bar just playing pool and foosball today, then watched Goonies with the commentary again tonight, because I'm starting to enjoy it more than the movie by itself. Sean leaves really early though :( I don't have much else to say, I guess. It's gonna be very interesting watching Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom in Ned Kelly. Just looking at the pictures...it's so *strange.* I've gotta see it. Must figure out when my film classes are. Kinda depressed.

Screw it, link of the day is Joe's Eats and Christian Bookshop. It's not a diner or a bookshop. If you don't like slash or boy bands, you'll hate this, but Synchronik's just too good an author to leave off this page any longer. Yes, I'm a freak, yes I'm going to hell, In fact there's another good site called "Hell Is Paved With What You Read Here." So there you go.

Hmmm, pic of the day...pic of the day...how bout this new one from Bag-End. It's a very cute one of Dom, even if there's no hugging. Gotta find more cute hugging ones, I'm running out fast.

Fa shizzel my wizzel (???)
Green Queen

I saw Huw again tonight.

I think he even flirted with me too *is very hopeful.* He's still cute. And he drove me *and* my friends home :D Machine Gun Fellatio were GREAT, but a word to the wise (that I knew before but forgot coz I'm deeply stupid): always wear sensible shoes to a concert. It was *so* hot, too, so get water before heading into the mosh pit. Damn but it was fun. For those that don't know, MGF is an Australian band, very out there. Most famous song lyrics are "You're like a roller coaster toaster in a big four poster bed." They consist of about 4 guys, a woman and a drag queen. They're very good :) After vaccuuming and cleaning the house all day, definitely a nice break. Had a nice long in-depth discussion with Scary Jess and Nina in the car about gay pairings in movies/TV. We agreed on Lex and Clark and Frodo and Sam (hell, even Huw agreed with us), and also got into the somewhat slashier elements of A Knight's Tale. Which started because in that movie Heath Ledger has little girl arms. (RIGHT?!) O-Week's basically over, but it was SO much fun while it lasted, and Huw said he'll probably call me again! SO happy. I'm a pimp! I got to dance with two hot guys in a week and even kinda picked one up!

Link of the day? Well, I don't think many people really want to see the one I've been at all day *sigh* it'd just scare people. Not even a proper obsession of mine, just a little something I do in my spare time. I'm not gonna tell what it is so I should stop talking now. The actual link is the Urban Legends Reference Page, which has been linked to from the Bronze all day.

A couple pics today, one LotR and two Mekhi Phifer, because I'm in love with him and me and Nina have a fun little evil scheme to kidnap him using beer and corn thins. Hot as hell. Trying to please everyone, so there's a bald pic (for me) and a dreds pic (for Nina.)

You are using math to seduce me, aren't you?
Green Queen

I picked up a random tonight!

He's cute and he's nice and his name's Huw. Welsh, apparently. But he was more drunk than me and while he hit on me for the first hour or so, after that he sort of only semi hit on me. But he's *cute!* and we did the exhange of numbers and everything. Tonight was so much fun, so was today. I love love love O-Week. I've had the bar crawl tonight, I think I'm going to a toga party tomorrow night, then a Machine Gun Fellatio concert at the Uni Bar Thursday then finally an all-day, all you can eat, all you can drink Fantasy Island day on Friday. Yay!

Very tired though, must sleep. Link of the day is LexSlash, which is fairly obvious, if you don't like that stuff don't go there.

Pic of the day is just a cute generic Dom/Lij hugging incident.

Damn the man, save the empire.
Green Queen

*wails* I'm a teeny bopper! *sobs*

Watched the usual 24 and Queer as Folk tonight, everything else good shunted by cricket (as if we don't know who's going to win) and the Grammys. So I watched the Grammys instead. Before I start in on them, 24 was *much* better tonight (Nina's back, yay!) and Queer as Folk's most shocking moment for me was when I figured out that Novotny wasn't Michael's last name. I liked that name! It kinda depressed me. If that's the most shocking thing about QaF, I think I must be getting immune. Lots of funny!Brian tonight, but not enough of him all together. Also kinda watched this Norwegian pisstake of boy bands, called something something Boyzvoice. Very, very funny, esp. the "biggest fan" and the 12 year old girlfriend. Often scary, but still very funny.

Moving on to the Grammys. I got in touch with my inner teeny bopper. Admittedly I've been checking out Justin lots lately, but I think I'm starting to like N'Sync. It's quite pathetic really. I watched them at the Grammys, and I critices the girly one's hair, and noticed that I could hear Lance. I usually check for his voice now, since he's actually the best singer of the lot, and sounds really good when they let him bloody well sing. He looked good too. The fact that they weren't singing their own songs could only help, because as a general rule their own songs are crap.
To be fair to myself, I also got in touch with my inner rocker by worshipping Dave Grohl (in spite of his damn ditzy model girlfriend--I'm a Grohl fan, but not a guy,) and my inner rap fan (I love Eminem. Love love love. He deserved more, and could've been more contraversial, but still love.) and my inner...well, whatever Norah Jones sings. She's good. Not so good as to warrant *all* the damned Emmys, but good.

Almost forgot to do a Link of the Day today. I have one I *so* want to use, but I'm restraining myself. Instead, here's the Harry Potter Lexicon. Running out of ideas? Me? Never. It's just that most of the sites I go to regularly are...not exactly interesting to most people who visit this blog, I'll put it that way.

I've got a couple nice little LotR pics for you all tonight, but also a treat--a Draco/Eminem comparison pic (Tom Felton's whole superior peroxide blond thing is *so* familiar...)

On the Bus is back up! Nobody knows what that is, I hope.

*leaves to read*
Green Queen

PS: Drips. That's right, I can milk Harry Potter references out of anything.

Also, Jennifer Connelly is dating Chaucer. I forgot the guy's name in real life, but he played Chaucer in A Knight's Tale, and he was in A Beautiful Mind. I'm in love with Chaucer. Not so much the actor, but the character in Knight's Tale. I must've seen the movie a hundred times--mostly because of him. I mean, my sister loves it and we own it so we bung it on fairly often, but the only reason I really watch it is him.

Slept a lot and talked almost solely to people who I'm fairly assured like me today. Went to a party last night. The bit where we watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was good, so was the drinking outside sitting on a shopping trolley (dunno if it was stolen, don't really car.e it's a shopping trolley.) Everything from then on was pretty much downhill.

Link of the day is my old Buffy website, Katie's Slayerettes Page. I never renamed it since someone helped me make it years ago and came up with that name (I think I started the site in yr 9) but it has loads of pics--I had one of the biggest pic collections on the web, over 3000--and some other stuff that used to keep me amused. Hasn't been updated since January 2001.

Pic of the day is a cute little Sean and Sean number--Sean Bean and Sean Astin, that is. I was tempted to go crazy with LotR boys pics today, but decided against it. Otherwise I might run out. Keeping it in installments is probably wiser.

Just couldn't put the usual effort in tonight. I have too many problems. Am thinking of going to a shrink or something. Seriously. I'm tired of all this shit. I'm tired of annoying people, of them hating me, and of not knowing what the fuck I'm doing with my life and so I'm thinking I need to change something. So this is an attempt to do that. I dunno how this'll go, but here's hoping.

By the way, that was Tom, the comment in yesterday's post.

Drove a lot today. Also, I have to agree with Leo Getts on this one. They fuck you with the mobile phones.
You lot remember Leo Getts, Joe Pesci's character in Lethal Weapon? Well, in Lethal Weapon 4 he has a good bitch at the phone companies, and I think I finally understand why. I happen to live in a small pocket of absolutely *no* reception, for some bizarre reason. I can't see any reason why there would be no reception here, but there you go. So today I missed a call at about 5:54 from...someone. I realised I'd missed said call at about 7:45 pm. I had 15 cents worth of credit left, so I tried to check the message. I got as far as "Hi Katie, this is..." "You have no more credit." I swore, loudly, prompting a good long lecture from my drunken father. Since my parents had both had alcohol, neither was permitted to accompany me (on my marvellous L-plates) to the local...what's it called? that place where they refuel your car...to get some more credit. And you can't pay for it online. Or over the phone with someone else's credit card. I ended up trying to walk to the service station (that's it!) at about 10 pm. But it was dark and cold and raining, so I gave up. Moral of this story: They *do* fuck you with the mobile phones. And I still don't know who called me. I tried Tom, Colin and Ash, it wasn't Nutty or Adam, coz I'd recognise their voices. No more ideas.

Meanwhile, yay for the rain!

Link of the day is...well, odd. I discovered my sister was frequenting a place called Dollz Mania. So I decided to check it out. These are the *sluttiest* fairies you will ever see in your life. I was curious about the Gothmaker, but it's down. There are a lot of young girls aged about 9 and up who go to this site, which scares me, to be honest. I mean, these dolls are *seriously* skanky.

A few pics of the day. Check this out! It's from Lift Off. For no apparent reason, it's just there. Also (if it works) a great pic of Alfonso Cuaron, Daniel Radcliffe, Ernie Prang and the Knight Bus. And it's official--we've got Michael Gambon as Dumbledore, kiddywinks. Fortunately they're not trying that ridiculous idea of digitally recreating Richard Harris. Creepy. Gambon's IMDb profile is here. Oh and Sir Cadogan is being played by Paul Whitehouse, here. No word yet on Trelawney. No LotR pics today, try again tomorrow.

I doubt it'll work, in which case, here's a link to it and the article. For a bigger version of the pic, click the little one. And see, Ernie Prang's not made of wax! He's turning towards Alfonso and Dan. There were rumours...There are also questions about the lack of casting of Trelawney. How they can leave her out is beyond me, she's fairly important (spoilers) for the repeated Grim sightings, predicting Harry's death, and her actual vision close the the end of the book. Also, Harry and Ron are *hilarious* in her classes.
"Ahh, when there are two Venuses, it is a short sign that a midget in glasses is being born, Harry."
"I can see what this means, it's going to be very foggy tonight." (Ron, re: crystal balls.) Most of the comic relief in book 3 is thanks to those classes :)

Don't eat the crayons, no matter how pretty the colours are.
Green Queen

Heh.

Chiroptera says:

lex luthor once came up with battle armour.

Chiroptera says:

pea green, purple- it was like, gay pride armour.

Chiroptera says:

......oh, i should NOT have said that to YOU.

I hate Roswell.

You know, hate hate hate, in the sense that I don't hate it at all but they get me all invested in the characters and then completely break their hearts. Is it even possible for them to break a heart every damn episode? I mean, even at Christmas. This is absolutely the definition of teen angst. That would probably be more main problem with the show. See, Buffy can be heartbreaking too, but it's managed this great balance between humour and angst, which is what makes Joss great. Using demons as *metaphors* for real life problems and as mirrors for them rather than the supernatural *compounding* the problems. Roswell is pure unadulterated misery. That all said, I can't help but like *most* of the characters (as well as the cute Goonies link with Mary Ellen Trainor as the mother :D). They're surprisingly realistic, with plenty of flaws to go around. These summaries of the cahracters are based on episodes I've seen, by the way, so don't bitchslap me for them. Katherine Heigl does a particularly good job as Isabel. I can imagine her driving people crazy in real life, but I think she's great--very uncomprimising. I don't like Michael as much, though he has his moments. Liz is entirely too perfect, which pisses me off royally. Maria's starting to grow on me--she's not great at supporting, but she can hold her own. Finally, Max, ugh. He's the character I like the most as well as the one that annoys me the most. He's very broody and pissy, and *very* passionate. He completely throws himself into everything he does. Unfortunately for him, everything goes pear-shaped on Roswell, which means that he gets completely shattered about once every few episodes. They did a good job of casting him, I'll give them that--the whole elfin, puppy-dog eyes look works remarkably well every time he gets knocked back. I reckon "I feel like I just kicked a puppy" pretty much sums up every character's reaction once they let him down.

Another major whine. Do any of the writers of these shows know how completely heartwrenching moving is? The number of times a TV character just decides to move on a whim really surprises me, and they never seem to suffer from any real homesickness. Now granted, some people are much better at moving than others. I'm not one of them. I've moved a total of...(mentally counts) 7 times in my 19 years. For a diplobrat this is a relatively low figure. Other than the 3 times I don't really remember, every move has left me lost and floundering for at least a few months, with serious bouts of depression and homesickness to boot on the last few (even if it was technically home I was moving to.) And that's *with* my family. Hell, I hated Japan but I still have all sorts of flashbacks and problems with moving--and I left 7 months ago. I'm an extreme case, but really. When you didn't have much of a choice it's a lot harder than people seem to think. I'm getting into far too personal terrain here, moving on before I run my mouth off completely.

Link of the day is my LiveJournal. Just coz I have one now :)

Pic of the day has one continuing in the Sean Astin theme from yesterday, with a pic of him and Goonies co-star Joey Pants (forgot real name)--not because I have to, but because I want to--and a cute pics of the *other* hobbits.

I click my heels together three times
They spark a little but nothing happens
And the big bad wolf's still in my bed

Green Queen

mmm, sakata good.

Well, I just took in my first ever episode of The Osbournes. Why it's rated MA is beyond me, but I had *no* idea that reality TV could be so much fun. Until now the only reality TV I'd ever really liked was The Amazing Race, which really doesn't seem to fit in the reality TV classification for me. But The Osbournes is really simple and very funny, and I loved it. I think Kelly Osbourne's hilarious, even if she is a brat, and Jack's jealousy was really more cute than anything else. And I think those kids get along better than me and my sister. They're really honest and very cool, and I really like all of them. So, finally, I am a reality TV convert. Just don't expect me to start watching Big Brother *shudder*

Meanwhile, I got my LiveJournal code! Go me! *does dance of having LiveJournal* However it is not yet fit for human consumption, so for now I'm not letting anyone see it. Sat around doing nothing today. *What* a surprise. *sigh* I'm starting to feel distinctly neglected, to be honest. I really don't think anyone cares. I could probably go get myself hit by a car right now (well, not that there are any cars on the road at 11:30 pm on a Wednesday night in Canberra) and only my family and the midnighters would know I was gone for about a week or two until uni started and Tom and Nina realised I wasn't in the class I signed up for with them. Which is pretty pathetic really, considering the midnighters are an online community.

So as not to get too down, I'm going to pop my link of the day in now, and in the vein of yesterday's l.o.t.d (though nowhere *near* as good--if you only read one Lord of the Rings parody, read Cassie Claire) today's link is The Bagenders, another LotR parody in the vein of EastEnders. When Lexslash and Illuminations have something new up I'll link to them but LexSlash doesn't seem to have updated in yonks.

*sigh* and in true Liam style, bollocks. The Net's just not being co-operative tonight, I can't find any of my favourite pictures anywhere. Bag-End's not working, neither is the site with the lovely new behind the scenes pics from Prisoner of Azkaban I was gonna post (with Ernie Prang in the Knight Bus and the cute little signs that say "All Destinations (Nothing Underwater)," I was so looking forward to it.) I'm gonna overcompensate, with a few Sean Astin pics I like--Baby!Sean in one of my favourite ever movies (with Jeff B. Cohen, Corey Feldman and Jonathan Ke Quan in Goonies), a couple Fuzzy!Sean, and a very yummy forest. These are from The Astin Gallery.

Look at him....all fuzzy and with big fat nerd-glasses...I shouldn't be as attracted as I am to this.

I'm going to hell. Gotta stop biting them.

Just saw Angel ep 4.2, so obviously spoilers for that coming up.

So yeah, how cool is Gwen? Also, I noticed that Amy Acker has absolutely *no* breasts. Of course, that has nothing to do with the episode. I dunno, Gunn and Fred bore me. Gwen was a very interesting character. Angel's still not that great, but I like Lilah and Wes. Shame that's so very doomed. The whole Cordy as a higher being thing *still* sucks, but once again this episode was leaning towards better eps to come. I did like Dinzah, the whole bat-like thing worked really well. Far more imaginative demon than what's been going around lately.

Anyone who missed Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy on Rove was a damn fool. Well, missing Rove seems foolish anyway, but those two were hilarious. Ashton's imitations of Brittany were especially amusing. So was Rove's face when talking about the cockroach. Of course, if you didn't see it you won't know what I'm on about, so I'm gonna move on to flogging the *best* parody I've seen in a very long time now.

Cassie Claire's Very Secret Diaries. I know there's a link to just the diaries somewhere, but hell I don't know where it is, and if you're too lazy to go back to the first Aragorn diary and read from there you're the one missing out. I suddenly understand about 50% more of what's going on at Bag-End now. If you're at all a fan of LotR, and particularly if you're a slashy one (although that's *not* a requirement, as it's hilarious anyway,) you can't miss these. V. funny. Aragorn's a pervy hobbit-fancier, Legolas is definitely still the prettiest member of the Fellowship ("Go me!"), and not only is there no Gap at Rohan, there's not even a Banana Republic. From Frodo's diary: "Everyone hitting on me. Cannot cope."

On a related note:

Sam's my fancy!
What's your fancy? For a bit of background info, this was taking by Viggo, and of all the pics I've seen that he took this one really stand out. Lij's little *neck*...moving on. Here's the pic.

A young hobbit who came from Bag-End
Did to his <strike>boyfriend's</strike> master's garden tend
Through wanting to kiss him
Got stuck on a mission
Had to marry a girl in the end.

Until next time,
Green Queen

"Can we rest now?"

Spoilers for the unspoiled, ep. 7.2 of Buffy, eps 2.3 and 2.4 of 24, and ep...uh, something in season 2 for Queer as Folk.

Damn but that was a good episode. Once again, James Marsters' performance in "Beneath You" was far better than indicated in any wildfeed or transcript or even pictures. Can't say I liked much of the Nancy and the Giant Worm stuff, but every scene with Spike in it tonight was fantastic, especially that last scene. I think the part that got me the most was right after he stuck the big metal thing in Ronnie (no sex jokes) and then he just...flipped. He was so completely shattered, his acting there was just superb, flicking in and out, and shouting at (what is currently perceived to be) nothing. His first scene with the rat was also particularly effective. I just wish he'd kept his curly hair *drools*. I know, I'm weird. And how great was Dawn's "You sleep, right?" speech. The number of misunderstandings was also great, kept the plot going.
Speaking of, tonight's 24 was just *full* of that kind of thing...misunderstandings, I mean. And *NONE* of them cleaned up. Why? I just don't understand why nobody ever bothers to clear these kinds of things up in that show, unless forced to, like Palmer forced Lynn. Why? Is it just to frustrate us more? Oddly, Jack's plotline was least interesting to me tonight. Usually I love watching Kiefer. He's my bitch. But I liked Kim, Tony, Kate, the boss etc. much more tonight, more interesting.
Finally, QaF. Dammit, dammit, I missed almost half with the flicking channels. When's channel 7 going to revert to weekly, regular eps of 24? This is infuriating. It's bad enough that I have to miss the end of QaF every week if I want to watch the beginning of Buffy. *sigh* Fortunately, it doesn't look like I missed too much tonight. The Michael/Brian/Ben situation was okay, but pretty much everything else was fairly disinteresting. I really don't like it when they give Ted his own plot to follow. He's so dull.

Still haven't fixed up this thing with uni, so I have to go in *again* tomorrow. grr. And it seems as though the more sleep I get the more tired I am during the day. I went to bed relatively early last night, and still wouldn't have woken up for at least another hour without the call from my mother at 11 am. It's crazy. Talked on the phone to someone I haven't seen in *years* this morning, she was my best friend when we were 5. I'm gonna try to get onto her again so that I can find out the email address of another kid I knew in kindergarten.

Link of the day is...*ponders* how about IMDb? It's practically my bible. I love playing movie links with it. Yeah, I get my kicks in weird places, but the Internet Movie Database is still fun. Info on all movies, stars, relatively unknown actors, TV shows, everything, it's all in the Database.

Ahh, pic of the day. I spent almost the whole day stealing pics from Bag-End, so I've found plenty I like. So, in a *totally* unprecedented move, I'm gonna put in LotR boys. Again. However, I must point out that this is a pic with *no hobbits* in it. Not one! I've decided to go with this exceedingly cute pic of Viggo and Orli instead. Don't forget to check out yesterday's pic of Dom, though. It's one of my favourite pics yet. And I'm thinking of using a very shibby one of Elijah for tomorrow unless I find something better before then, so if you like him you may wanna come back then.

"What the fuck are you doing in my big ass industrial concrete tube?"
Green Queen

ugh, too tired again.

really, one of these days I'll think of something interesting to say. Converted another Harry Potter fan today, leant Ash my first book. Finally wore him down and he's agreed to read it. As far as I can remember, if he's a fan this'll make about 38 conquests for me. Went to Lea's and played Magic and Crazy Taxi for hours with Ash, Lea, Shemane, Justin, and Liam. Even Tom and Nina showed up for a brief period of time. It was shibby. My hands hurt from too much PlayStation and so I'm going as soon as I've done this.

Hallopino is my link of the day, it's done by Ry at the Bronze and I kinda like it.

Here's what I call "guh" pics...all the boys looked *really* good at the LA Two Towers prem, most *especially* Dom, with the lollipop *drools*. Love the innuendo.

While this is giving far more about me away than I would usually like, I found it depressingly hard to find a good photo of Lij from that night coz he looked too much like Chris Kirkpatrick. But Dom, damn.

Asking the questions we all want answers to: does Dom know Elijah in the biblical sense? o:)
Green Queen

god I'm so dead right now it's not funny.

and yet I managed to drag myself over to the computer to update my blog, coz I didn't last night. Hope everyone's Valentine's day went well. Mine was extraordinarily odd. NavyAdam hooked up with Liz. Well, okay, you don't know them probably, but just trust me, it's odd. But meh, I got a new top and it's green and it has a phoenix on it, which is cool. So I'm all good. Got home...earlier than usual, woke up at 7:30 to go to a French class, and went swimming, so I'm wrecked. And it's only 11 pm. Just under 125 days until the new Harry Potter book comes out, my excitement is tangible. I'm going to be unbearable by the time the book actually comes out. Can't wait. *ponders* My brain's empty now, so I'm gonna get to the good stuff.

Click here and then go to Insaniquarium for the link of the day, if you're reading this you're probably as insane as me and you'll this game.

Screw my new no LotR boys resolution. I watched Grease tonight and managed to pick up Lord of the Rings references in it, which is, of course, impossible. I also picked up on slashy moments. You know there's about 3 points in the movie were Kinnicki's head is between Danny's legs? I'm insane. I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it. Here's why.

piece de resistance...Orli's checking Lij out. That, or he's thinking the same thing I thought when I saw that pic (immediately *after* I thought Orli was checking Lij out,) which is "Damn, do you need the flourescent yellow blinders on that suit?" Either way they're pretty.

Where can I run to, where can I hide
Who will I turn to now I'm in a virgin state of mind

Virgin State of Mind, by K's Choice

Green Queen

Well, what are you waiting for. Step up to the left side of your broomsticks.

Oooh, before I forget, I'm gonna post today's Pic of the day, coz it's a giggly one and will have all in a good mood. See, I told you Kiefer Sutherland was my bitch.

Moving on, now. Been listening to my Buffy soundtrack a lot, I really like Pain, Transylvanian Concubine, and Virgin State of Mind, but I Quit's a bit irritating. I also finally finished watching all the tapes I borrowed from Lea and intend to borrow a few more soon as I can. I really like Tara. I didn't realise this when I read the transcripts, but she was really a good part of the show, she saved many an episode throughout seasons 5 and 6. I miss her now :S And it's weird, not having Giles around so much. Again, something I didn't notice while reading. It's much more effective actually watching the show--Seeing Red really got to me, I rewound and rewatched the scene where Buffy and Tara get shot right from Willow's "Look, clothes" line over and over again. I think I watched The Body about three times through, it was that good.

Have to get back to real life again tomorrow...jesus, some idiot just roared past my house at 1 am. Anyway. Where was I? Ah yes, real life *shudder.* I'm going into the uni, seeing Nikki, and meeting NavyAdam. I say we kill all butterflies. They get everywhere, they land on you and get in your stomach...infuriating. And those feelers and icky fuzzy legs...*shudder*. Hate the little shits. Anyway, also going clubbing again tomorrow night after my self-imposed ban to keep me from fights and sleazy randoms. Then I'm going to start getting out of the house and spending money again.

Link of the day is Angel's Acolyte, continuing the theme of last night's Leoff Wildfeed. Acolyte is slower to update and I'm less interested in Angel, but it has good episode summaries with some nice pics to back it up, which is pretty snazzy. And since I gave you an early Pic of the Day, here's a little LotR action to keep you smiling :)

Just because :)

Gone for now,
Green Queen

mosquitos are evil and must all be destroyed.

Doncha wish we had some disease we could carry from mosquito to mosquito the way they carry diseases to us? Sure it would hardly dent their population, but at least it'd be a form of retribution. Karma. You reap what you sow. Spelling on that? Moving on.

Sat around some more today, watching Buffy. Buffy's lots of fun. I think I'm overdosing, though, because I have a tendency to quote at random and talk like Anya. Not that I didn't used to quote at random, just more so now. I'm really looking forward to the rest of Season 7, it looks great to me, and even though I keep talking about how I don't like this ep or that season, I still watch every episode because comparatively it's just such good, quality TV, with steady writing, interesting characters, good lines and good plots. Admittedly my Harry Potter obsession has far outstripped my Buffy obsession, but Buffy will always hold my interest. I even have the books. Which, by the way, READ THE GATEKEEPER TRILOGY!!!! Seriously, if you're a Buffy fan, these three books are fantastic. Easily the best Buffy novels around, and I know. I've read a few. They're set sort of season 3-ish, and they're very engaging. Meanwhile, no Harry Potter fan can go without reading Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Fantastic Beasts is more of a speculation/reference sort of book, but Quidditch is amazing. JKR created an entire, believable history for a sport that doesn't exist aside from in our imaginations, and it works *so* well.

Now I really wanted to link House of Usher as my link of the day, but couldn't. I will give you all an Usher pic tomorrow alongside my usual pic of the day, so you can check out the artsiness that is Usher. One of these days I'm gonna scan in my *gorgeous* Harry Potter drawing that Tom drew for me, once, when we were bored in the...um, whatsitcalled? the place where they have food at the Uni. Anyway, so the actual link of the day is Leoff's Wildfeed, coz I couldn't live without it. Not as funny as Omar G's Smallville reviews, but far more informative, much more for people serious about their Buffy. Like me.

Grrrr...I had this really neat pic of the day of a comic version of Harry Potter, but it's too big for MySiteSpace *pouts incessantly* so instead I bring you....the Knight Bus! Interior and exterior, courtesy of that beacon of journalistic integrity, The Sun.

Oooh! Before you go look what the wonderful Sinner just showed me! It's great! It's so suited to my current obsession! I know I said no more LotR boys, but lookit the Engrish subtitle I got! Lookit! I'm so happy!
Bbr>Oooh! Before you leave check this out! It's shiny and it's fun! And it's so very suited to my current obsession! I know I promised no more LotR boys, but this is so great! And look what subtitle I got! I'm so happy!...anyway.

Do I even need to say Pervy Hobbit Fancier? Okay, it was terrible. Worse than bad. *BUT*, it was better than it used to be, and it's the first rail on the track to the salvation of the series. It gets much, much better. Though there's some stuff coming up that's too disturbing to discuss, there's also at least one really decent villain, a couple nice recurring characters, and the appearance of someone we haven't seen in a long time to keep us occupied.
How manic was Robin Williams on Rove? I missed that show. It's literally the only Australian show I watch, and it's fantastic. Rove himself's great, but the show's energy is what really keeps me tuned in week after week. That and the fact that everyone on it gets caught up in it and nobody has any reservations. My Sharada's particularly unmissable.

It's time for bed, I'm really tired after my long day of doing nothing. I *do* have to go in to uni at some point and fix up some stuff, but I'm a lazy bastard. I accidentally slept in until 12:30 today. I've really got to start readjusting to a normal routine. I'm currently on a routine of going to bed between 1 and 4 am and waking up between 11 and 1. It's not gonna be good when uni starts again. I really wish I had a job.

Link of the day is Psyche's Transcripts, extra specially for Tom, who's currently a bit addicted, and for the wonderful webmaster for keeping me up to date and breathing during my overlong stay in Japan far away from anything resembling new Buffy.

Pic of the day isn't LotR. I think that from now on they're going to be getting more and more varied, so sorry LotR slashers, you'll have to check my archives and go to Bag-End Inn for more of those lovely piccies. This is the Lex Luthor action figure...want want want! Look, he's so sexy and bald and such a snappy dresser.

Asking the questions we all want answers to: is *all* of Lex's hair missing? o:)
Green Queen

hello all

How many of you Aussies watched the Buffy premiere? If you didn't, sorry, but that's just inexcusable :p it was *fantastic.* James looked delicious and Dawn was less whiny and the big bads doing their cameos...it was so great to see the Mayor and the Master back again, they're easily the best Big Bads ever. Except maybe Evil Willow, but she doesn't really count, does she? Visit this threadat the Bronze for my theory on what's going on in the 7th season if you're all caught up. Anyway, it's all very exciting.
I swear, I'm never leaving the house on a Monday night again. Friends is only moderately amusing, but Malcolm's always good. Then there's 24, Queer as Folk, and Buffy. And tonight they even had an Australian sex survey on, which was worth a look, though not nearly as hot as QaF. I'm biased, and I digress. 24 was great, got to see my bitch being a bad-ass in sunnies. Oh yeah, for those that don't know, Kiefer Sutherland is my bitch. That will be explained at a later date. Maybe. And Sean Biggerstaff is my puppy. I digress *again*. Queer as Folk, how good was that? Okay, Mel and Linds getting married was very corny and cliche, but in a sweet way, and the Lindsay/Brian scene was *very* nice. I'll never forget him in the cowboy hat *drools.* The Ted/Michael sideline was boring, the Debbie/Vic sideline was great, the Emmett butt sideline was cute. Done for tonight's TV.

Stayed at Lea's last night, lots of Magic was played. I still suck at it. But I *was* fascinated by how much money had been spent on the cards at the table after they told me the basic ones are 20c each. It got me thinking about all the useless things we odd humans spend money on. I for one have spent hundreds if not thousands on Harry Potter merchandise, and I've barely even started my collection (I hope.) Can't wait to get myself a Sirius Black figure. What kind of useless things do you spend money on? Are we all geeks, obsessive, or just normal? Is it more usual to do this sort of thing in high school, and are we obsolete by university? I'm talking to Justin and he's going on about buying a house, renting it out, investments and such. I read about this in the paper, how Australia's becoming settled and practical, and nobody goes off to tour the world or experiment anymore. With most of the people I know (and certainly with me because I'm terrible with money) that's not the case, but I wonder if it's true of society in general. I'm being boring now.

Link of the day is And You Thought YOU Were Obsessed With BtVS where I got many pictures from today (like that gorgeous Spike one I used in my first banner, with the torso of a god) and here's an honourary link of the day. AM. On a Saturday. But still, it's not doing nothing. So I was back home by 10, played Sims, went swimming, played Harry Potter CoS, went grocery shopping, came home, cooked dinner, ate it. I even talked to Tom. Still managed not to spend money too--except for a packet of gum.

Gonna bitch and rant for a bit now. People who have not read books 2, 3 and 4 and who have not seen Chamber of Secrets, please avert your eyes.
We all know Lucius Malfoy is a man of some considerable intelligence. Yes he's an obnoxious blond evil Muggle-hating Death Eater and a prat, BUT a prat of some considerable intelligence. He fears Dumbledore, perhaps not as much as he should but it's there. Now, as many of you know, Avada Kedavra is a VERY SERIOUS SPELL. It is one of the three Unforgivable Curses. The penalty for them is Azkaban. Possibly even the Dementor's Kiss. Why on *earth* would a man of such intelligence attempt to use that curse on Harry Potter, in Hogwarts, RIGHT OUTSIDE DUMBLEDORE'S OFFICE?!? Sure, Harry lost him a house-elf. Sure, Lucius hates Harry. But Harry's a hero. Not even Lucius is stupid enough to kill the hero of the wizarding world under Dumbledore's nose. What drove the usually fairly decent Chris Columbus to do this?
Also, the duelling scene. Expelliarmus DISARMS the opponent. This is an important spell in the novels. The kids use it a lot. Expelliarmus does *not* flip one head over heels down to the end of a catwalk. It's not the flippy-endy spell. And Rictusempra's a tickling spell...even so, how were Draco and Harry to know how to disarm, if all they'd been taught was to flip their opponent head over heels? It's *useless.* At least Serpensortia did something.
Please excuse any spelling mistakes, particularly in the above rants, I don't have my books with me right now.

Link of the day. I struggled with this decision, as I have been quite fond of three links today, but I decided that since my LotR obsession still seems fairly strong (for the moment) that I would send you all off to the Hobbit Name Generator, the Elvish Name Generator, and the Barrow-Downs Multi-Name Generator. I am, respectively, Tigerlily Bulge of Hobbiton, Earwen Sirfalas, and:
a Forgetful Gondorian
Elf name: Donmetiel
Hobbit name: Tanta Whitfoor from Gamwich
Dwarf name: Talin Elfhelm
Orc name (I particularly like this one): Muzsnik the Deathskull.
I was wondering if maybe I could be a disco skull, like in Scooby Doo. Damn but I want me one of those. And no matter how many names I tried for myself, I couldn't get me or anyone else I know except a girl I went to high school with to be a Gamgee. *sigh*

Pic of the Day:

How hot are Sean and Orli in this picture?!?

Asking the questions we all want answers to: Oliver, is it really wood? I have a very, very special link of the day for you all today, but before I link it I'd like to tell you a little bit about it. As most of you probably already know, I truly believe that anyone with eyes will notice that on Smallville (you know, that young Superman show) Lex Luthor is in love with Clark Kent. I picked up on this somewhat before I visited Television Without Pity, but with TWoP the show is just *so* much more enjoyable. I get to look out for the Gayest Look of the Episode, Lex's Long Lingering Looks, and all kinds of fun sexual innuendo. So I'd like to pay a little homage to Omar G, who is just wonderful, and present to you all Omar G's Smallville Reviews, and invite you all to embrace the HoYay. In honour of this very special occasion, I've got a very special picture of the day...a NON-LOTR pic of the day! *gasp* and here it is.

Lex looks a bit icky, but it's still *so* gay. They even said "I do." They're practically married already. See the eipsode to know what I'm talking about.
You know, I've always found it rather annoying that it's so accepted in society that guys will get turned on at the site of lesbians. In fact, according to a few straight guys I've quizzed on the subject, seeing two girls kissing is an *invitation* to hit on them, if anything. Yet when girls think guys making our are hot? Whole different ball game. Which is why I love the Internet slashy girls like me. Hello all :D

Another exciting day of doing nothing, but joy! Buffy is starting in Australia next Monday. So happy :D I also had real contact with the outside world, in the form of text messages back and forth with Julia for a bit. That's about all for today, but tune in next time if you like what you see. *ponders* Also, if you don't, because my mood swing are so violent and my obsessions so varied that you'll probably be interested another day.

Flying Squirrel!Clark--he *almost* flies...
Green Queen

see, the thing is, I've done nothing for days.

Literally, nothing. I've sat around at home and played The Sims and read Harry Potter. Today I ventured out of the house to sign up for a few private French classes, which wasn't terribly exciting. So really I've had nothing to say. I've been dead boring. I've either ranted or said nothing. Often, ranting while saying nothing. This is one of those times.

So here's the link for the day--the Who Would You Kill? game. I was thinking about what defines a good movie and a bad movie. For instance, I know when a movie is "good" critically or even in cult status by watching it. Even so, that doesn't necessarily mean I'll enjoy it. True, I enjoy many highly acclaimed movies. But the ones I watch over and over again, when I'm at home sick or bored on a Saturday night, are almost never the critically acclaimed ones, as I'm sure most will agree. Horror flicks, teen dramas, action movies, rom-coms. These are the movies that tend to bring us back over and over again--these and the cult movies, of course, which is what makes them the best in my opinion. I've watched Scooby Doo more times than I care to remember--sure, it's mostly because my 12 year old sister loves it and is usually the one to rope me into watching a movie on the weekend, but it's so light and easy to watch as well. My favourite movies are probably Harry Potter (no guesses as to why,) Lord of the Rings (same again,) and The Goonies, which I watch as often as humanly possible. The Goonies is one movie with a good cult following...who'd have thought that some kids' movie with a far-fetched plot and more errors in continuity than you can poke a stick at would become a cult hit?
Okay, there are flaws in my logic. Take for example Fight Club. I really can't stomach that damn movie, yet so many people seem to love it and it's got such a huge cult following. Even so, I say go get your old favourites, because they're the real classics--and hell, even critics sometimes like them.

Watched Queer as Folk as I do every Monday night of course. Only show currently on Australian TV that I watch regularly. Best moments tonight belonged to Michael and Emmett. Michael was mourning the loss of Captain Astro, a gay hero for him for many years, and Emmett was having enormous fun with the old pickles guy. The story of Lindsay's granny Fay, the lesbian, was interesting but contrived.

Link of the day is The Main Event. It's lost a lot of its late great fights, but it's still consistently amusing and worth a look. Pic of the day:

Bad shirt, but still it's cute. About 3 hours later I went and had a bath, where I read Goblet of Fire. Then I went to lie in the front room where I read Goblet of Fire. Then I midnighted (and missed,) went into the lounge room and read Goblet of Fire. Had dinner. Read Goblet of Fire. And now I'm online to update this, then I'm off to read Goblet of Fire, and get started on Prisoner of Azkaban. I have a Sirius craving.

Link of the day, which is sunlit5 of the Bronze's weblog. She linked to me, and I took the Inner European test that she reccomended on her site, which is sort of an unofficial link of the day, related to the official link of the day--if you read her blog you'd visit it ;)

You are a Dubliner.

What's your Inner European?
brought to you by Quizilla

And here's a pic for the day:

reading time :)
Green Queen

I was very cocky today when I said I'd update again later, little knowing that now, at the end of the day, I have very little if anything to say.

I spent a *very* exciting day sitting around doing not much of anything really. I vaccuumed. I was going to see some friends but that didn't pan out, because one of them has decided to become reclusive. Home phone's off the hook and the mobile's off. So I sat around playing PopCap games and wishing I had a life. Monday I'm job-hunting again, because when I came to Canberra in July of last year I had $1700 in the bank and as of yesterday I have $500. That's a fairly significant drop, and I fully intend to put more money *back* in there. Somewhat connected to making money is my link of the day: "What would you sell on the internet?" which is a cute little quiz, even if the results make *no* sense:

Remember that urban myth about the guy who woke up
in an ice bath and his kidney was gone? Well...

What would you sell on the internet?
brought to you by Quizilla

I also spent a fair bit of the day lying around reading Goblet of Fire for the 8th time (I know, only 8 times, but it is the biggest book--I've read book 3 about 12/13 times.) Here's a pop quiz for any supposed Harry Potter hotshots out there, that Phaedra from the Bronze gave me:
1. What is the name of Dobby's friend from Book 4?
2. Name 2 of Gilderoy Lockhart's books (and not in the movie version, please. Who Am I? does not really exist.)
3. Who is the Minister of Magic and (I added this part) what colour are his coat buttons?

Can't wait until the third movie comes out. I'm liking the idea of Gary Oldman as Sirius Black more and more by the day. So, instead of yet another pic of the LotR boys, I've decided to grace you all with a few lovely Gary Oldman pictures:

And here's the best one, which is rather appropriate seeing as hes playing a terrorist in this movie:

More Rings boys tomorrow, I promise.
Green Queen

Went clubbing last night, and I decided when I got home drunk at 4:45 am that it wasn't the best time to update a weblog, so I went to bed instead.

Had an absolutely unbelievable night. Not in the good great fantastic sense, but in the "I-can't-believe-that-happened" sense. I wasn't even intending to go out at all, and I very much believe it woulrd have been better if I hadn't. For one thing, I wouldn't be sporting a large blue bruise on my right cheek. That's right--I, the Green Queen, got in a bar fight.

So here's the story. I was dancing with Nina, Niels and Julia (if there was someone else there I'm sorry, the pre-punching details are a little foggy.) For some reason, one of the girls dancing in front of use decides to insult Nina, saying "That's a nice doily you're wearing" about her shawl. She turned back to her friend, so I tapped her on the shoulder, ready to do the defending of Nina, but in a strictly non-violent sense. Of course. The girl turns to me and says "Nive doily you're wearing too." Now where she got that from, I don't know--I was wearing a black lacy belt-type thing with shiny gold balls on it. So being slightly drunk, I retorted with "Thank you, want to feel my balls?" And the girl retorted by throwing. Her drink. In my face.
I stood spluttering for a moment as she walked away, then went after her and tapped her shoulder again. Suddenly her friend turns me around and punches me in the face, saying "Don't you dare touch her." I had no interest in starting a fight with Doily Girl--exchanging a few insults, maybe, but no violence involved! At that point Niels decided to intervene by getting me away from Violence Girl. Later on, I punched a wall to release frustrating, so now I also have a bruised knuckle or two.

There were a few other minor incidents, much more personal and emotional, later on that I don't really feel like disclosing on this semi-public blog. But isn't that just crazy?!

Will update again later tonight, of course, as this counts as last night's entry. I'll just pop in this link to my other blog, not because it's the link of the day but just because someone may like to see it. Link of the day for yesterday goes to The Leaky Cauldron because it's my favourite site on the net.

Here's a pic for today:

Doncha just *love* Sir Ian?

more later
Green Queen

it's that time again. well, not as late as usual, but I'm tired, so I think I might head off soon anyway.

Went swimming today. Saw a man with bitch tits. Yeah, I know it's not very nice of me, but it's so rare....Anyway, that's not the point. The point is...hmm, don't know that I had one.

I also saw a section of The King and I. You know, the one where all the wives perform Uncle Tom's Cabin Thai-style. The one you used to fast-forward through as a kid because it's the most boring part of the entire movie. Rewatching it today for the first time in years I found it absolutely fascinating, particularly from a cultural context. The filmmakers were brilliant to take such an overwhelmingly American story and completely transform it in order that the Siam people at that time could understand it. Of particular interest is the part where the slave Eliza asks God to help her, and he performs a miracle and makes it snow, freezing the river and helping her to cross. Descriptions of "blossoms falling from the sky" and "the lace that veiled her escape" are so interesting. Can you ever make someone who doesn't know cold understand the feeling of snow, and ice? Even the meaning of the play was slightly changed, but the central ideal remained: slavery is generally bad. And watching such a famous play done in so completely different a way....hell, I loved it. Another standout moment is when the dancers in dog masks come out and begin to hunt down Eliza...just brilliant. I know I sound all pretentious and stuff reviewing the film like this, but it suddenly hit me today. The rest of the movie actually didn't interest me as much anymore. It was a step towards intercultural understanding, and doesn't demonise the Siamese king, but it also turns Anna into far too much of a heroine for my liking. It's almost as though the movie is trying way too hard to appeal to both adults and children, in the end pleasing neither: too depressing for kids, but too much singing and silliness for adults. As for whether or not it's offencive, I suppose that's for Thai people to judge. There's a genuine interest in the country and a certain romanticism, but not much realism. Still, Yul Brynner's great :)

If I find this segment of the script I'll post it. Now for some of the light-hearted entertainment you came for:

Go here and click on the Bookworm game link for my link of the day....it's addictive but *really* fun. Here's the daily gorgeous LotR boys piccie:

Sean Astin will always be my favourite. I'm just in love with him.

Yes, Lea. I really am a $1 whore.
Green Queen

well well well.

Today was fairly uneventful. Both ears are now hurting....the doctor becoming more and more inevitable *shudder*. Ah yes, my life is so exciting.

On the upside, this Elijah Wood pics page and this Gale Harold pics page would be my sites for today. This girl has a wicked sense of humour and damn good taste in boys. Lij you probably already know, but those are really nice pics (check out the industrial tubing one) and Gale Harold is Brian on Queer as Folk. They're cute though, aren't they? In case anyone's wondering, I *am* wearing a tshirt tonight. :p Was wondering through the empty uni today, and I suddenly realise that that place is sort of Giles' wet dream when it's like that. It's musty and empty, buildings and buildings of learning. A library all to himself. No green-haired kids sitting around talking about how The Simpsons relates to the meaning of life.

In other words, Joss's nightmare.

*hugs* for all

Green Queen

I know, I know, two in one night is weird. But here's a random thought I've just had.

I've noticed I'm doing more and more thing in my bra lately. Bit pissed off with some people, and fuck but Philadelphia's a depressing movie. I know, I know, fairly obvious on that one, but still. I've been trying to think about what to do around here, and I thought I might get back into Photoshop again. You know, manufacture some images that suit me, or maybe do some stuff to order--icons, wallpapers, stuff like that. Also, I'm gonna reccomend fics or sites or something that amuse me, see how that goes. For today, I've got the Bag-End Inn, because whoever runs this site thinks like me. And has gorgeous pictures. And a message board. And some quotes. And all of the above are fun and amusing for all lovers of the Lord of the Rings boys, particularly slashy fans (though non-slashy will probably love some of the individual pics of Orli and Lij anyway.) Also, the best damn Sean Astin and Dominic Monaghan pics I can find on the web.
*sigh* stupid people all off having sex while I sit around having no life. Never would have thought of having one of these things until I discovered slash, and that many of the slashier people seem to have one, and I've found many lovely stories and piccies on them so I decided to give one a go. I'm not nearly egotistical enough to think that this will amuse anyone other than me, but I needed something to amuse me late at night and I missed my old homepages.
